Set the fee before applications arrive
Small-business clients can set the attorney fee when posting a flat-fee Project. Lawyers see that amount when applying, and the posted fee carries through to hiring.
When this is useful
Use a flat fee when you can describe a defined scope and deliverable. For example, a clearly bounded document review is easier to price when the expected output is written down first.
The problem it solves
Publishing the fee alongside the scope gives both sides the same starting point. The separate cost breakdown also shows the difference between the attorney fee and the client’s total project cost.
How to use it
- Prepare the Project scope and review the deliverables.
- For a flat-fee Project, enter or review the Attorney fee and the full cost breakdown.
- Save your scope changes and review the details before publishing.
- When hiring, check the fee and terms for that hire before completing the remaining steps.
An example $3,000 attorney fee, $300 Lawtrades fee and $90 processing fee add up to a $3,390 project cost.

Before you publish
The posted fee and scope lock once the first application or hire request arrives. Use the amounts shown for your own Project; an illustrated example is not a quote. Fixed-fee worklogs record activity without adding hourly charges to the agreed fee.
