Worklogs & time

Log time on a Project

Record the date, duration, and work you completed.

For talent on an active small-business Project with time logging available. Fixed-fee time records do not add hourly charges.

Add a worklog

  1. Open the Project in Lawtrades Agent.
  2. Select Worklogs, then Log time. In a layout with Project actions, use Log time from that menu.
  3. Check the selected Engagement.
  4. Enter the duration in H:MM format. For example, 1:30 means one hour and thirty minutes.
  5. Choose the Date and write a Description of the work.
  6. Review the entry, then select Submit.

Check that it saved

Return to the Project worklogs and confirm the date, duration, and description appear. If the form reports an error, correct it before submitting again.

For fixed-fee work

The form identifies these entries as Informational time. The fixed fee stays the same; logging hours does not create an extra hourly charge.

If Log time is missing

Time logging is for active Projects with a supported billing model. It is not available in a pre-hire conversation. Check the Project and its status, then contact support if you expected the action to be available.

Write a useful time entry

Describe the task and its outcome clearly. For example: “Reviewed the vendor agreement and sent a marked-up draft with questions on the data-processing terms.” This is an example, not a required format.

Record time while the details are fresh. If your client also uses another time tracker, reconcile the date, duration, and description across both records. Use the billing rules agreed for your engagement; this guide does not set a universal rounding increment.
