Connect your agent to Lawtrades

Before you start

You need an eligible Lawtrades client or talent account. Small-business account sign-in is not supported by the external connector. Your agent’s plan or workspace administrator may limit custom connections.

This guide covers the authenticated account connection. Public Lawtrades discovery tools are a separate service and do not give access to private account records.

Account server URL

Copy this URL into your agent’s connection settings. Complete sign-in in the Lawtrades authentication window. Never paste passwords or access tokens into a conversation.

Claude

1. Open Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector.
2. Name the connector Lawtrades and paste the account server URL.
3. Complete Lawtrades sign-in when prompted, then enable Lawtrades in a Claude chat.

ChatGPT

1. Open Settings → Plugins → Add → Add MCP server.
2. On Connect to a custom MCP, enter Lawtrades as the Name. Choose Streamable HTTP as the Type and paste the account server URL into the URL field.
3. Select Save, then complete Lawtrades sign-in when prompted. Return to ChatGPT to check the connection.

Check the connection

Ask your agent: Show my active Lawtrades engagements. Do not change anything.

An empty list can be a valid result. An authentication or connection error means setup needs attention; it does not mean you have no engagements.

Account access and available tools

The connection uses your Lawtrades account permissions. Clients and talent can have different tools. Review the tools your agent discovers; some may make changes to your account. Check your agent’s permission settings before asking it to take action.

Troubleshooting

• No connection option: check your agent’s plan and workspace permissions. An administrator may need to approve the connection.
• Sign-in fails: confirm you are using an eligible client or talent account. Small-business account sign-in is not supported.
• Wrong or missing tools: check the account server URL and the signed-in Lawtrades account. Public discovery does not expose your private records.
• Expired session: reconnect in your agent’s settings. If a callback is rejected or the error continues, contact help@lawtrades.com with the agent name, approximate time and sanitized error.
• Disconnect: remove Lawtrades in your agent’s connection settings.
• Never include passwords, tokens or authentication codes in a support request.
